We had a problem that needed to be solved. We disliked taking on and off our holsters, gear pouches, radio, knives, 18D/EMT shears, multitools, flashlight, etc each time we threaded our belt through our belt loops so we create the ultimate American made search and rescue (SAR) riggers belt. Its designed to be rock solid, have a stiff inner liner to support loads of gear. The outer belt is attached to a soft velcro inner belt all while allowing it to be 1.5” belt loop friendly (such as jeans, Carhartt, and Crye precision style pants) thus eliminating the need for a goofy oversize military combat belt.
We have created the toughest expedition belt that allows you to secure equipment to an outer belt security attached to an inner belt. It is truly a modern-day Batman utility belt made especially for Search and Rescue Teams, EMT, Pararescue, Combat Medics, Paramedic, Police, SRT, Fire Departments, 18D, Ski Patrol and the military. Even better, you can put it on and remove it in seconds.
We created a soft inner and stiff outer belt designed to quickly take off a utility belt without threading belt loops. The inner nylon 1.5″ under belt works with any regular pant belt loops and has the soft Velcro loop exposed.
The outer nylon belt made from 1.5 inch Mil-W-55301 and a stiff 05-0575 webbing along will a custom Cobra buckles from Austri-Alpin D ring belt as the attachment. This keeps your gear snugly attached to you.
It has hook velcro to create a rock solid attachment to your inner belt. The outer belt can be used to attach any SAR, police, EMT, paramedic, fireman, radio, lineman tools and has a 1.5” belt width.
In order to use the thick double layered 1.5 belts we needed to fabricate a custom buckle design to accommodate the double layered belts. We worked with AustriAlpin on the creation of a custom buckle based on their legendary COBRA buckle.
AustriAlpin developed a synergistic hybrid of two standard products of safety industry hardware: the parachute D-Ring and the ANSI COBRA. The unique construction allows a central positioning and prevents the D-Ring from getting squeezed against the webbing and therefore guarantees easy handling.
The D-Ring Cobra Buckle itself is rated at 4000 lbs (straight pull) and the D-ring is rated to 5000 lbs (straight pull), far exceeding ANSI Z359.1, CSA, EN, UIAA, and NFPA standards for fall protection. The ANSI D-Ring COBRA also meets ANSI and CSA standards as well as salt fog and blowing sand test certifications.
The COBRA locking mechanism is patented and guarantees the highest safety. A one-sided opening of the lock is not possible even if the buckle is under load.
AustriAlpin D-Ring Buckle Strength rated as follows:
Buckle: 18kN / 4000lb MBS (straight pull). 36kN Loop configuration. Dring: 22kN / 5000 lb MBS (straight pull). Far exceeds ANSI Z359.1, CSA, EN, UIAA, and NFPA standards for fall protection. Made from 12mm – 7075 aluminum alloy. Stainless Steel adjuster, rivets, components, and D-ring. Brass clips. CNC Machined for flawless precision, reliability, and safety. No sharp edges.
Belt construction and design:
We designed the Ridge Iron SAR belt to go on with ease. Run the inner velcro belt tip through your pant’s loops and then secure. Next, attach the outer belt with Cobra Buckle – the rest of the day you just open/close the Cobra Buckle for ease of access!
You can load up 1.5 inch belt gear, knives, pouches, holsters, etc and not have to worry about belt loops. Plus, we are special ordering stretch size 1.5 inch Cobra buckles from Austri-Alpin so you have a functional belt, not webbing overlapping webbing with smaller webbing used to secure a tiny buckle as you find with many of the tactical or riggers belts on the market today. MADE IN THE U.S.A. Our belts are constructed from 1.5 inch Mil-W-55301 and 05-0575 webbing with size 69 bonded thread.
Belt Color Options: Black, Wolf Grey, Coyote Brown (COBRA Buckle will be black on all versions)
Sizing:
Introducing three sizes, the “Not Quite” or NQ1, NQ2 and NQ3. For folks with a waist size that was “not quite small/medium; medium/large; or large/XL and for our customer who tuck gear or holsters inside their waistband.
Our sizing chart is based on your pants size, so no need to break out a tape measure. Each of our belt sizes accommodates four waist sizes and I recommend you shoot for a belt that would place your waist size in the middle of that size belt. For example, if you are a 40” then the NQ3 is likely best for you.
